More than £190,000 every day is lost within the kingdom by victims of cyber-crime, police statistics show.

More than a 3rd of victims in this amount fell prey to the hacking of social media and email accounts.

Action Fraud same £34.6m was according to be purloined from victims between Apr and Sep 2018, a twenty fourth increase on the previous six months.

The City of London Police, that runs Action Fraud, has warned folks to stay separate passwords for on-line accounts.

The figures show thirteen,357 folks within the kingdom according cyber crimes over six months.

More than five,000 of these folks were hacked via their social media and email accounts, cost accounting victims £14.8m.

Commander Karen Baxter same cyber criminals were targeting people’s social media accounts “in a bid to form cash and steal personal details”, adding it might leave victims “at risk of identity theft”.

Action Fraud is that the coverage centre for folks scammed, defrauded or World Health Organization knowledgeable about cyber crime in England, Wales and European country.
